To Our Prospective Sponsors, Vendors, and Charity Partners - Art Chair Auction

Art Chair Applicants are invited to participate in this new, exciting, creative and highly promoted event. The Furniture Bank will provide the chairs and you provide the talent, creativity to produce a unique piece of art or functional furniture.  There is no cost to participating in this year's event.   The Live Auction will take place on Saturday August 28th and all proceeds will go to the Furniture Bank of Houston.  If you are  a nonprofit organization, contact the Art Chair Event Chairpersons for additional opportunities.

Chairs may be selected and picked up from the Furniture Bank beginning on  April 21, 2010.  Your chair may be refurbished for general use, painted, decorated, re-built into an artistic work, done anyway you can imagine.   Once your chair is complete, you may display it at your place of business or other organization. Plans are underway to have several collective displays at other venues, galleries, and sponsor locations preceding the Expo.   

We would encourage you to display your chair, add it to your Website, Twitter or Facebook.  The Furniture Bank will provide you with all pertinent event information to add to your site, as well as links on our site to yours.              

All chairs will also be featured on our Furniture Bank event page www.fb-houston.org and also on www.TheFuritureArtandDecorExpo.com.  We encourage you to take a before and after picture. Your picture(s) will be then used on our site, as well as in press releases that are sent on the event, as well as featured on the websites of our media (television, radio, print) web sites.                                                                                          

Chairs may be done over the period from April 21 - August 1st. The sooner your chair is completed the sooner it can be "marketed" for the event.  Participants will be responsible to transport their chair to the Furniture Bank no later than August 27th to the Expo site at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
